With this being my final songjournal post, it seems fitting to choose my favorite band of all time, The Ergs! I had almost forgotten that I hadn’t used them, besides for the “Ruby Soho” post I made earlier in the month. 

The first time I ever saw the Ergs! was at Curmudgeon Records in Hillsborough, NJ in the spring of 2005. They played with Hunchback and Bent Outta Shape and it was one of the most life altering shows of my life. I’m privileged to have seen the Ergs! many times over the course that they were a band.

I remember the day I bought Dorkrockcorkrod. I actually made my best friend Mandy buy it for me, I don’t really remember the circumstances. After that we went to a Chinese buffet and I wanted to bring in the lyrics booklet to look at in the restaurant but I wasn’t allowed to because that would have been too embarrassing, apparently.

I have an ergsclamation point tattoo.

It seems most people I know, I know because we listen to the same music. That’s why I like them so much. I don’t think it’s a really dick-head thing to say that it matters what people like, it definitively does. Without things like music, movies, TV etc. I wouldn’t have a way to relate to the rest of humanity.

Anyway enjoy a month of ska with Tristan. That dude is a dick. I think you’ll all agree.
